PRP Treatments for Hair Loss Recovery

What is PRP?

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is your own blood plasma that has been processed to enhance platelet activity.

Platelets release growth factors that stimulate tissue recovery. This helps tissues to heal and grow including hair.

There are many uses for PRP in the world of regenerative medicine.

We focus on PRP as a therapy for alopecia (or hair loss).

How does PRP treat hair loss?

PRP is supported by over 200 scientific articles in medical literature showing the efficacy of PRP increasing hair count, hair thickness, and the growth phase of the hair cycle.

Click HERE to read the articles in the National Institutes of Health (NIH) U.S. National Library of Medicine.

PRP harnesses the natural healing process by painlessly delivering a high concentration of your own growth factors to right where they are needed.

PRP treatment stimulates a denser, healthier regrowth from the hair follicles.

PRP is effective for hair restoration without steroids or surgery.

What does a PRP Treatment entail?

We draw a small sample of your blood and process it to harvest platelets and growth factors.

PRP is formulated by spinning down your blood sample in a centrifuge to separate out the platelet-rich plasma from other parts of the blood in order to create a more concentrated collection of platelets.

We then use a painless micro-needling technique (not injections) to treat the scalp with PRP.

Micro-needling and PRP has been shown to aid thinning hair, balding, bald spots, receding hairlines, alopecia and more conditions.

There is minimal discomfort associated with this procedure and almost no downtime.

The first treatment typically takes approximately 60–75 minutes. Subsequent treatments generally run 60 minutes.

“Upon the recommendation of my doctor, I started seeing Saga when my alopecia areata had gotten the worst it’s ever been. I’ve had spots off and on for many years, but they’ve always grown back. This time was different — I wasn’t seeing regrowth. I’ve never, ever tried a “quick fix” for my alopecia — the sketchy recommendations that are so often advertised online — and when I learned about PRP and how it’s simply the body’s own plasma, this seemed like a logical next step. I had three sessions with Saga and sure enough, ALL of my spots are growing in well. It looks like I’m not headed for a wig, after all.”

“I have been dealing with alopecia for 30 years. I have tried steroid injections that worked, but had unsustainable side effects, medications, and topical solutions that were not effective for me. Then my doctor told me about PRP treatments – and how it helps the hair grow back without steroids or drugs. I called Saga to set up my treatment plan. After two treatments, you could see progress – new hairs starting to grow. After four treatments, the bald spots were visibly filling in nicely. The results speak for themselves. Best of all, it feels good to be off the steroids and growing hair.”
